Aoki was discovered in New York at a Rancid concert she had gatecrashed. She started modeling when she was 13, the same year Aoki was introduced to supermodel Kate Moss by her godmother who would later take the young Devon under her wing. It wasn’t much later that Devon signed onto Storm Model Management at the tender age of 14. In 1998, Devon replaced Naomi Campbell as the face of Versace.

She has modeled for the fashion houses Lancome, Chanel, and Versace. Aoki is 5 ft 6 in — an almost unheard of height for runway models, who are usually at least 5 ft 8 in tall. She has done ad campaigns for: Chanel Couture by Karl Lagerfeld, Versace Atelier by Steven Meisel, Junko Shimada by Bettina Kimenda and Baby Phat by Kimora Lee Simmons.

Jason Christopher is a fashion photographer based in Los Angeles California. His work has been described as Classic, romantic and clean. These are three qualities that make up a perfect image and Jason nails it every time.

Born in Southern California he picked up his first camera at age 14. It was a Canon AE-1. Bought with the money he saved from his paper route, Jason began photographing the beauty that surrounded him in his hometown of Westlake Village California. In high school he began to take interest in the beautiful Italian designers that he saw in fashion magazines such as Vogue, Italian Vogue, and W magazine. Being 100% Italian it was love at first sight.

Both of her inspirations are conceptually intriguing but I could see more ways that they would be executed poorly than well. In her case, I feel she has done a beautifully job linking her concept with the final works. The work feels surreal.
