Jason Christopher is a fashion photographer based in Los Angeles California. His work has been described as Classic, romantic and clean. These are three qualities that make up a perfect image and Jason nails it every time.

Born in Southern California he picked up his first camera at age 14. It was a Canon AE-1. Bought with the money he saved from his paper route, Jason began photographing the beauty that surrounded him in his hometown of Westlake Village California. In high school he began to take interest in the beautiful Italian designers that he saw in fashion magazines such as Vogue, Italian Vogue, and W magazine. Being 100% Italian it was love at first sight.

Elizaveta Porodina’s Gold Project

Young, German photographer Elizaveta Prodina sent us some of photos of her Gold Project, a series of photos in which she photographs her friends covered in gold paint symbolizing the quality and power of their friendship. This concept is also derived from her desire to create an alternate and unearthly civilization.

Both of her inspirations are conceptually intriguing but I could see more ways that they would be executed poorly than well. In her case, I feel she has done a beautifully job linking her concept with the final works. The work feels surreal.

Jessica Stam, model

Stam was born in Kincardine, Ontario, and grew up on a farm alongside her six brothers. As a child, her family was very religious, practicing the Christian faith. She originally wanted to be a dentist. Stam attended St. Joseph’s High School in Barrie, Ontario, where she lived with roommate and fellow model Michelle V.

As soon as photographer Steven Meisel discovered the then 16-year-old Stam, he cast her in every ad campaign of his, and suddenly she was a star. “I guess I’m his muse,” she has said of her mentor Stam won the Los Angeles Model Look Search in 2002. Ward’s baby doll-like look inspired a new craze in fashion. Fashion designer Lazaro Hernandez of Proenza Schouler told Teen Vogue in February 2006 that, “She looked like no one else at the time. She was this alien, and fashion is always looking for newness.” Her look became the popular new look among models. It has inspired a new generation of baby doll-like models such as Vlada Roslyakova, Heather Marks, and Jessica Stam.

Tyson was scouted by an editor from hip-hop magazine ‘The Source’ in 1991. Through that connection, he hooked up with a New York agency, and within months, Beckford was before the lenses of Herb Ritts and Bruce Weber. It was Weber who first brought the model to Lauren, who nabbed him for the company’s sport, fragrance and body lines. By 1995, Beckford was on the covers of major magazines, including Paper and Essence and multiple-page spreads in Vogue, GQ, the New York Times and Details.

Ralph Lauren hired him in 1993 to represent his Polo Sport line exclusively. It was photographer Bruce Weber who introduced Tyson to Ralph Lauren, who immediately hired him to represent the company’s fragrance and body line, ‘Sport’. By 1995, Beckford was on the covers of major magazines, including Paper and Essence and multiple-page spreads in Vogue, GQ, the New York Times and Details.
